Start Your Own Blog in 7 Easy Steps

You want to make your website, but you have no idea where to begin. Modern tools and scripts make it more straightforward than you might imagine. If you’re interested in creating a blog, here are seven simple steps to follow:

First, settle on a focus for your blog.

The first step in starting a blog is choosing a topic. Is an opinionated blog where you may air your grievances your goal? A weblog dedicated to canine obedience? What, a weblog about your organic vegetable garden? You’ll need to perform keyword research to identify some decent phrases to target and a solid domain name, so picking a topic is essential.

Second Thoughts on Hosting

Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr, Weebly, and many other free platforms are available if you don’t have any money to invest in your blog’s inception. However, I do not encourage this because these firms reserve the right to terminate your blog at anytime, rendering your efforts futile. Getting your domain name and hosting is ideal, especially if you hope to monetize your blog.

3. Register a Website Address

Selecting a domain name that does not affect your content is a bad idea. You may have heard that it’s essential to secure an “exact match” domain name based on a particular keyword phrase, but these domains aren’t as functional as they formerly were. Choosing one that encapsulates your blog’s overarching theme is far more crucial.

Your domain name must be registered with a registrar. NameCheap is what I use. Simply navigate there, select “Domains” on the left-hand side, then click “Register Domain” to enter your desired domain name and associated keywords in the massive text box provided. Find out here if the domain you want to register is available. A.com is the preferred extension for a professional blog.

You won’t need to register a domain name if you use one of the above-mentioned free sites, but you should still choose a name that is somewhat connected to your subject matter before you begin blogging.

4. Obtain Web Hosting

If you take my recommendation, you will require hosting and buying a domain name. You can skip this section if you didn’t listen to my advice, but you might be sorry you did. I suggest you use HostGator. If you’re sure you’ll spend a lot of time blogging and want more than one domain, the “Baby” plan’s $7 per month price tag is well worth it because it allows you to host an infinite number of domains.

Join Your Domain To Your Hosting 5

This is one of the most perplexing parts of getting started with blogging for many people. You need to “point” your domain to a server that stores your website or blog files so that people may find them when they type in your domain. The server (at HostGator or your preferred hosting service) stores your files. A “Domain Name Server,” or DNS for short, is a system used to resolve domain names to IP addresses.

Don’t worry if all this sounds too complicated; it’s relatively simple. When you first signed up, your hosting provider should have emailed you your Name Servers. You can easily update these details by logging into your domain registration account.

Put in WordPress 6

You’ve purchased a new domain and are almost ready to begin writing, but first, you must install WordPress. It’s a valid concern. However, most hosting services have a script that automates the process with a single mouse click. You may find “fantastic” and “Simple Scripts” in your cPanel. If you have trouble locating one of them, the WordPress installation process can be made more accessible by contacting support.

7. Make a weblog

The question then becomes, “Why wait?” Now that you have a name, hosting, and WordPress installed, all that’s left to do is start writing! Start making posts immediately; if you need help getting started with WordPress, plenty of free tutorials are available online. For now, you can use the default template that WordPress gives you. Of course, you might eventually want a better template for your blog.

Creating your blog is the first step, but no one will find it if you don’t advertise it. Visit [http://www.websitepromotionblueprint.com] for further advice on attracting readers and monetizing your blog after downloading a free eBook with a detailed how-to guide on website promotion.
