Security

Buffer’s system was compromised in October 2013, allowing hackers to get access to the accounts of several users. This resulted in hackers uploading spam posts via the social media accounts of many of the users. As a result of the hacking, Buffer was temporarily suspended on October 26, 2013. Joel Gascoigne, the co-founder of the company, sent an email to all users, apologizing for the problem and advising Buffer users on what steps they should take.
